E-Commerce is generally defined as giving businesses the ability to sell online. However, here at Scarpa it means a little bit more than that. Our E-Commerce Practice concentrates on helping companies conduct business online. More than just selling products and/or services, E-Commerce is the ability to access a work product all the time, from anywhere necessary, and having that work product help you drive efficiency and constant improvements throughout your entire business lifecycle and NOT just sales.

A typical e-commerce engagement would generally work like:

  • Current Process - We study how you conduct your business. Understanding what you do now is critical in understanding what you want to do, and how best to help you get there.

  • Desired Process - During this area we will examine where you want to be. This is generally a rather loose area, as most firms do not have a firm grasp on the complete picture of everything that they want to change to, but rather have certain pain points that need to be concentrated on. As these pain points are worked through, supporting changes are determined, acknowledged, and added to the desired outcome.

  • Cyclical Development - As we start working on the solution, a cyclical process will be followed where next steps will be discussed and agreed upon. Once the initial work on the next step is completed, it will be evaluated and accepted. Once that step is complete, work will commence on the next step, and so on, until the project is completed.

  • Business Hand-off - once work has been completed, all documentation (technical, system, and training) will be provided and training courses, as necessary, will be arranged.

  • Follow-up - Regular follow-ups will be scheduled to ensure that the application continues to fulfill the client's business need.
