E-Commerce
E-Commerce is generally defined as giving businesses the ability to sell online.
However, here at Scarpa it means a little bit more than that. Our E-Commerce
Practice concentrates on helping companies conduct business online. More than just
selling products and/or services, E-Commerce is the ability to access a work
product all the time, from anywhere necessary, and having that work product help
you drive efficiency and constant improvements throughout your entire business
lifecycle.

Web Design
The Web Design group is responsible for ensuring that internet-based applications and sites are both extremely usable
and visually pleasing. Many, but not, all of our designed sites use ScarpaSiteTM
to allow the client users to create, maintain, and delete content directly.
|
| |
Web Hosting
Once your on-line application or internet site is completed, you need to have someplace to store it so your targeted
audience can reach it. Our Web Hosting and Support group manage the actual web, database, and email servers that your
applications reside in, as well as manage any support requests that may come in from the client. The Web Hosting and Support
group works closely with all of the Internet Practices.

Online Marketing
The Online Marketing and Placement group works to help ensure that our client's sites get the maximum
possible exposure on the most common search engines.

Custom Development
The Custom Development group works on both client and server-based applications. They can team up with the e-commerce
group to create specialized internet-based applications or work on their own to create custom non-internet based applications
that enhance customer business processes. The non-internet based applications include programs such as Point-of-Sales (POS),
Accounting, and Process Management.

Business Process
The Business Process group is one of the most used groups at Scarpa. Business Process is one of the biggest benefits
on working a project with Scarpa Technology, as we bring decades of business experience and best practices analysis to each
of our projects. Any projects requiring custom development or the implementation of packaged software will have a
business process analysis component to help ensure that the developed solution will enhance
the client's business and fulfill their needs.
|
| |
Application Integration
One of the key outputs of business process analysis is determining that "If this could just talk to that, we could cut
four hours out of fulfillment." The Application Integration group is who we turn to translate information from one format to
another. This group is expert at making systems talk together. Using products such as Microsofts BizTalkTM Server,
processes such as ELT (Extract, Load, Transform), and/or custom adaptors, the Application Integration group
will get your various applications and systems work together.

Packaged Software
Our Packaged Software group is one of our largest groups, as they manage all products that
were not written by Scarpa. This could be as simple as installing a desktop
suite such as Microsoft Office to as complex as installing an enterprise-wide package for
Customer Relationship Management or Financial Accounting.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is the practice of location intelligence.
The Scarpa GIS Practice services and expertise allow our customers to
visualize information in a new way. We can help you see how every business and government -
worldwide - can harness the power of location to help them be more efficient, more
responsive, more competitive and more effective. Mapping and geographical analysis is
important for firms looking to understand what is around them. This could be
new locations using an analysis of competition, or it could be a demographical study
of income in a given area. The GIS practice also handles routing, targeting, and
cartographic needs.
